Suicidal Blogger
I’ve just come across a blogger that is calling herself 90-Day Jane. She’s counting down the days until she commits suicide, and she’s blogging until then. She just started on February 5th (2008).
The comments she is receiving are ridiculous. Both in number and content. They are the cruelest messages you could receive if you were really getting ready to check out. Fortunately 90 Day Jane is keeping her sitemeter open and the public can track the IP’s, on the off chance she’s serious. Some of these comments are worth knowing where they came from.
This is how 90-Day Jane’s first post reads:

Day 90: The Decision
Today is day 90. How did it become day # 90? Well, I’m not really sure except that it’s better than day 91.
With roughly 3 months to look at my life from a truly temporary perspective, I wonder what realizations i’ll have. Will I suddenly become a sentimental person? Will I tie up loose ends? Will I rekindle relationships long forgotten? I doubt it, to be honest. It’s not like I have terminal cancer or something. It’s a truly selfish thing I do now (was that Dickens? ha ha) and I plan to live my life as I always had, but with this new perspective. I’ll go to work, I’ll have a social life, I’ll date, I’ll celebrate and then I’ll check out.
I guess, though, on the day I decide this I should probably say why. Though, I simply can’t define it. That’s what this blog is for; to define through public record “why”?”
On Day 86 (she’s counting backwards from 90) she goes out and shops for a dress for the “Big Day” and video tapes the event. Then posts it to YouTube. A commenter at YouTube stated she is called 90 Day Jane on Facebook, too.
We’ve seen people try this before, so I pulled 90 Day Jane up on a hoax site. They’re stating they can’t predict the future, but they’re pretty sure it’s a hoax too.
Of note, she seems to reside near Hollywood.
She doesn’t want any help, unless someone wants to send her some ideas on how to “do the deed.”
We won’t have to wait long to find out, May will be here soon enough.
EDIT! aahhhh….someone just sent a tip. They think it’s Julia Allison. What do you think? The photo on the right is the one that is being used on the blog 90 Day Jane.

Update: We Know Who 90 Day Jane Is!

that is just sick. i hope this isn’t a precedent for others to follow. we don’t really realise this but what we put up on the net can have an effect on others, especially if we’re well-known. or in this case, unwell-known.
I just don’t know what to make of it Sulz - I mean, what if she’s serious? But if she were serious, would she really blog about it? It’s surely a hoax. I hope so anyhow.
It’s funny how people will do anything for attention these days…I hope she enjoys her 15 minutes of fame. You’ll see, on day 70 she’s going to have a full-blown website with ads everywhere and 90-day Jane signature nooses for sale.
She’s a bloody idiot - or Britney Spears.
Signature nooses
that’s creative! I like it! Cafe Express is going to get farmed again!
This chick has only had this blog up since the 5th of February, and this is what she posts today:
“I’ve received some wonderful emails from individuals, but also media outlets. Many of them have been respectful and simply asked questions or for perhaps an interview. Which is understandable even though I am declining to be interviewed.
Then I got this email from a HUGE television network.” and has a screen shot of it.
Speaking as someone who’s commented on her blog although not being someone who has partaken in the seemingly cruel commentary; I really doubt that people will be tracked for laughing at this whole idea/experiment/viral/what have you. Cruel comments are not illegal and to be perfectly honest, if someone is ridiculous enough to go through the whole 9 yards to run a site like this, they deserve some ridicule in my honest opinion.
Oh I’ve commented myself; and I agree completely, no one would ever get in trouble for laughing at someone especially at a joke.
That’s obvious.
However, let’s say for a moment it were real - and someone were getting threats and other comments along those lines of not funny - tracking is always handy.
I stumbled upon this in a forum site:
“”Her” is actually a company called Radical Realities, an ad firm based in New York. She is the product of the Bethany Baptist Church Group, which is composed of 14 churches in 8 states in the North East. If that still doesn’t ring a bell, maybe the name Joel Osteen will, they are an offshoot of his Lakewood Church.
Anyways, it’s a ploy to get people better aquainted with god. The script goes that near the end, she starts going to church (as like a last fling joke), then she starts believing, then at the last minute she calls off the whole thing.” True? Maybe, we’ll have to wait it out.
I saw 90 day Jan’es blog yesterday and can’t believe the circus that’s been going on. I don’t know who’s more stupid- Jane or those people who take the time to give her unsolicited advice. Btw, the resemblance with Julia is astonishing. Going by Julia’s track record of seeking publicity, I won’t be surprised if she is Jane. We haven’t forgotten Jakobandjulia.com, have we?
This is obscene and irresponsible. If she is serious, which I doubt, she needs to know that she doesn’t own her own life. It belongs to her sister, her parents, and her friends. She will feel no pain but they will and they will blame themselves. It will ruin much of their happiness forever. (Personal experience talking) If this is a publicity stunt or a joke, I hope she will be able to accept the responsibility for the many desperate kids and adults that will attempt to emmulate her and will actually suicide. Either get help or apologize and stop this before it’s too late and someone dies.
rblaze, I can’t see Joel Osteen stooping this low. He’s got a following without going to this length.
But a church behind this could be an idea, and that would be gross. Ya think it’s scientology?
Now I’m really hoping it’s Julia!
Jenn —I was thinking when I saw her trying on her dresses… that if that were my sibling or child, I would recognize her instantly. I wouldn’t need the rest of her face. If that were a friend that I see often I might also recognize her. Has anyone else seen the youtube where she is trying on dresses? I posted the link above, tell me what you think - do you think you would recognize her if you knew her well?
There are more photos of Julia Allison linked to her first name above. You can compare more. It sure does look like her.
Her site was taken down by blogger. She had stated it might happen, and if it did, to go to 90dayjane.com. Evidently she still has it pointed to the blogger site so her site still isn’t coming up. She has a domain though, 90dayjane.com. We’ll see if she gets up again. Here is a screenshot of Google Cache of her site if you haven’t been there yet.
the link to Julia’s blog, linked to her last name, above, is currently not working; her blog is hosted on tumblr and all of tumblr is currently down it seems. She has more than one, like http://juliaallison.tumblr.com/ and http://itsmejulia.com/ . I did not use the ‘no follow’ tag when I linked to her blog above, she’ll know we’re linking to her in this story. It will be interesting to see if she comes to confirm or *deny* her involvement
Yea turns out that guy was kidding, it sounded fishy from the start but eh w/e…maybe she did the deed when they took down the blog? This Julia Allison idea is interesting…keep us posted.
Today Julia is at the Dunkin’ Donuts Toasty Tent in Herald Square. I wonder if anyone asked/will ask her

What was day 0, is now day 83. ???
The blog has been taken down by ‘jane’ herself. It was not for real, and yet it was real. Day 0 was copied fast enough by another blogger. Read it here:
